gmgn copy trade vs copyfomo

gmgn is one of the most complete memecoin terminals around, and its copy trade is genuinely good. the question is narrower: is it the right tool for copying a trader you found on fomo?

gmgn copy trade is built to copy any solana wallet you paste in, with a 1% handling fee per trade according to gmgn's docs. copyfomo is built to copy traders from the fomo leaderboard, finds their wallet from a handle, and mirrors their buys and sells on robinhood chain, base, bnb and solana. the right pick depends on who you copy.

verdict: pick gmgn if you hunt solana wallets yourself and want the deepest filters in a full terminal. pick copyfomo if the people you want to copy are fomo traders, because it starts from their handle and covers the chains they actually trade on.

where gmgn copy trade is better

credit first, because it is earned. gmgn is a complete memecoin terminal: charts, token discovery, wallet analytics, sniping and copy trading in one place, on the web and in telegram. if you like to research a wallet before you follow it, gmgn gives you more to look at than a copy bot does.

its copy trade filters are also broader than ours in some directions. according to gmgn's copy trade tutorial, you can filter by liquidity, token creation time, minimum pool burn ratio and launch platform, keep a blacklist of up to 20 tokens, and run up to 10 wallet copy tasks. if your edge is filtering the solana launch firehose, those are real tools.

and if the wallet you want to copy is a solana wallet you already have, gmgn needs nothing else from you. paste, set a size, done.

where copyfomo is better: fomo traders specifically

the difference shows up the moment the trader you want is someone you saw on fomo. three things get in the way with a generic wallet copier.

you do not have the address

fomo shows a trader's positions and pnl, never the wallet behind them. a wallet copier cannot start without one. copyfomo's wallet finder takes a handle or a screenshot of the profile, checks the wallet really is theirs before saving it, and refuses rather than guesses. that matters more than it sounds: copying the wrong wallet is worse than copying nobody. background in how to find a fomo trader's wallet address.

the trades are not all on solana

fomo's default venue is robinhood chain, with other networks alongside. on our own trader pages (snapshot 2026-09-06), nearly every profiled trader has a robinhood chain wallet listed, and some have no solana wallet at all. a copy task that only watches solana will miss those trades, and it misses them silently: you just see a trader who seems quiet. copyfomo copies on robinhood chain, base, bnb and solana.

the fomo toolkit around the copy

copyfomo is built around fomo traders rather than wallets. /leaderboard lists the most followed fomo wallets with their 24h, 7d and 30d pnl. /thesis pings you when someone posts a thesis on a token you watch. /portfoliotracker watches up to three fomo accounts. a generic terminal has no reason to know any of that exists.

sizing and guards, side by side

both tools cover the basics well. the differences are in emphasis.

max chase is the one we would point at for fomo traders. it compares the price your copy would land at with your trader's own entry, and skips the trade if it has already run too far. on fomo that matters: we timed 29 first buys from a large fomo wallet, median +39% one minute after the leader's fill, +43% at fifteen minutes, most given back by sixty. past moves say nothing certain about future ones, but that curve is why entry discipline is worth a setting.

custody and withdrawals

ask any copy tool two questions: can you take your key with you, and how fast can you get money out.

according to gmgn's wallet tutorial, as of sept 2026, private key export is prohibited on all chains, and withdrawals go through the website with google authenticator 2fa and a whitelisted address, with a waiting period after setting it up. those are deliberate security choices, and some people prefer them.

copyfomo takes the other route. you get one evm address and one solana address, you can export the private key from /settings at any time, and you withdraw as usdc from $1 with no copyfomo withdrawal fee. /withdraw can also send a token out as-is. on fees in general: copyfomo shows the rate on the confirmation screen before anything is armed, with no fee on deposits, withdrawals or holding. gmgn's docs state a 1% handling fee per copy trade, buy and sell.

using both

nothing stops you running both: gmgn for solana wallets you discovered yourself, copyfomo for the fomo traders you follow. just keep sizes separate so one tool does not spend the cash the other was counting on, and do not copy the same trader twice by accident. more options are compared in the best fomo copy trading bots.

either way, the risk is the asset. memecoins can go to zero, and copying a trader does not reduce that risk. size every copy as money you can lose. copyfomo is independent and not affiliated with fomo.

if the traders you want are on fomo, open @copyfomo_bot, send /find with their handle, and read every setting on the last screen before you arm anything.
