does fomo have copy trading?

fomo calls it following. people call it copy trading. the difference between the two is who presses the button, and that difference decides your entries and, more often, your exits.

fomo does not have automatic copy trading. the fomo app lets you follow traders and get real-time notifications when they buy or sell, then you place each trade yourself. its homepage promises "real time notifications for what the best are buying". mirroring, where the trade is placed for you, comes from tools built on top of fomo, such as copyfomo.

that is not a criticism of fomo. following plus alerts is a deliberate design: you stay in the loop on every trade. it just is not the same thing as a copy, and the gap shows up exactly where it hurts.

stay with fomo's follow if you want to judge every trade yourself and you are around when alerts land. add copyfomo if you want a trader's buys and sells mirrored while you are busy, asleep, or simply slower than the notification.

what fomo's built-in copy trading actually is

fomo's own copy trading guide describes the model plainly: find traders with a consistent record, follow them, and "turn on notifications for traders you follow." it adds that "copy trading isn't set-and-forget." on a token's page, fomo also overlays other traders' buys and sells on the price chart, so you can see who is in and when.

so a fomo copy trade is a loop you run by hand:

  1. follow the trader and keep their notifications on.
  2. when an alert fires, open the token, read what they bought, decide, size it and confirm.
  3. when they sell, notice, and do the same in reverse.

done attentively, that works, and there are people who do it well. the full routine and its failure modes are in how to copy trade on fomo, and what the alerts do to the price is in fomo notifications.

not the same fomo. if you find guides about "fomo copy trading" with leverage, smart setups and hyperliquid, that is likely a different product at onfomo.com, whose docs describe copy trading for perpetual futures. its docs do not reference the fomo.family app. this page is about the fomo.family social trading app.

where following falls short

three places, and none of them are about skill.

  • the time it takes to act. we timed 29 first buys from a large fomo wallet: median +39% one minute after the leader's fill, +43% at fifteen minutes, most given back by sixty. the notification reaches many followers at once. acting on it by hand means joining a move that is already underway.
  • exits. buy alerts feel urgent. sell alerts do not. people catch some entries and far fewer exits, and on moves that fade within the hour, the sell carries a large share of the outcome. the method is in the first-buy study.
  • hours. memecoins trade around the clock. an alert read at breakfast describes a price that is gone.

when following by hand is the better choice

to be fair to the built-in way, there are real cases where it wins:

  • you trade the same hours as the trader and have your phone in hand when alerts land.
  • you want to skip most of their trades and only take the ones you understand. a filter set in advance is blunter than your own read of a chart.
  • you follow many traders for ideas, not to copy any one of them. alerts are a research feed, and that is a good use of them.

what automatic mirroring adds

copyfomo is an independent telegram bot, not affiliated with fomo. you pick a trader from the fomo leaderboard, or make any fomo profile copyable from a handle or screenshot with /find when the wallet can be verified. then you answer the copy flow once and it runs:

  • buys and sells mirrored within seconds, into a wallet that belongs to you, on robinhood chain, base, bnb and solana.
  • your size, not theirs: a fixed amount (from $3, default $50) or a share of their buy with a max per trade.
  • guards in place of judgement: max chase skips a copy if the price already ran too far past their entry, plus a market cap band, first buys only, cooldown and max positions.
  • exits you choose: mirror their trims or close all at once, a take profit ladder up to 3 rungs, a stop loss, breakeven after a rung.
  • one kill switch: pause all stops everything, and nothing is sold.

you lose something too: you no longer look at each trade before it happens. the guards are how you express judgement in advance. if that trade-off does not suit you, copyfomo also sends alerts without copying, so you can keep deciding by hand and just get told faster.

using both

this is not either/or. plenty of people keep fomo for what it does best, discovery, the leaderboard, theses and the social feed, and use a bot only for the traders they want mirrored. our trader pages are a place to start that shortlist, and copyfomo vs mofo compares the two fomo copy bots side by side.

whatever you choose, copying does not reduce risk. memecoins can go to zero, and a trader's past results do not predict yours.

if you want to see what automatic mirroring feels like, set up one trader at a small size with @copyfomo_bot and watch the fills arrive next to your fomo alerts.

frequently asked

does fomo have copy trading?

not automatic copy trading. the fomo app lets you follow traders and get real-time notifications when they buy or sell, and you can see their trades on a token's chart. you then place each trade yourself. fomo's own guide says to turn on notifications for traders you follow and that copy trading is not set-and-forget. automatic mirroring comes from independent tools built on top of fomo.

how do i copy trade on fomo?

by hand: follow a trader, keep their notifications on, and when one arrives, open the token, decide, size and confirm. then do the same when they sell. automatically: use an independent telegram bot such as copyfomo, pick the trader, set your size and exits once, and their buys and sells are mirrored into your own wallet within seconds.

can fomo copy trades automatically while i sleep?

the fomo app does not place trades for you. a notification that arrives while you sleep is read in the morning, at whatever price the token has by then. an automatic tool acts on the trade itself rather than the alert, so entries and exits happen while you are away, inside the size and guards you set in advance.

is the fomo copy trading on hyperliquid the same app?

no, as far as its documentation shows. a separate product at onfomo.com describes copy trading for perpetual futures on hyperliquid, with a guided setup and a manual one. its docs do not reference the fomo.family social trading app. if you are reading about fomo copy trading with leverage, check which product the guide means.

is copyfomo part of fomo?

no. copyfomo is an independent telegram bot built on top of the public fomo leaderboard. it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by fomo. it copies fomo traders' buys and sells into a wallet that belongs to you, and you can export the private key at any time.

stop reading. start copying.

pick a trader from the fomo leaderboard, set your size, and the entries and the exits land in your own wallet while you sleep.
