copying several fomo traders without doubling your risk by accident
copying one trader is a decision about one person. copying four is a portfolio, and portfolios fail in ways a single copy never does: overlap, stacking, and a balance that runs dry on the wrong chain.
yes, you can copy multiple fomo traders at once, and each one gets its own size. in copyfomo, sizing, max per trade, the market cap band, first buys only, take profit and stop loss are set per trader. three account-wide settings then decide how the traders interact: same coin two traders, max positions, and cooldown.
get those three wrong and four sensible copies add up to one concentrated bet you never chose.
| setting | scope | options (default) | why it matters with several traders |
|---|---|---|---|
| size | per trader | fixed from $3 ($50), or % of trader | lets a cautious trader get $20 and a trusted one $100 |
| max per trade | per trader | $50, $100, $250, custom ($250) | caps % sizing on a trader who goes big |
| same coin, two traders | account | first buy wins, buy again (buy again) | decides whether overlap stacks |
| max positions | account | 3, 5, 10, off (off) | caps how many tokens you hold at once |
| cooldown | account | 30m, 1h, 4h, off (1 hour) | limits repeat buys of a token you already hold |
defaults from the copyfomo docs.
sizing per trader: fixed or %
with several traders, fixed amounts are easier to reason about. four traders at $25 each means any copied buy costs $25, whoever triggered it. your worst day is roughly the number of buys times $25.
% of trader scales with conviction, which is where multi-trader setups surprise people, because fomo traders size very differently. from the copyfomo traders snapshot (swap stats as of 2026-09-01):
| trader | median swap | at 5% of trader | after a $100 max per trade |
|---|---|---|---|
| ethermonk | $18,265 | $913 | $100 |
| aurelius | $237.76 | $11.89 | $11.89 |
same percentage, two very different positions. without the cap, one trader dominates your account. a fixed amount is never capped by anything else, so max per trade only matters in % mode. past trading patterns do not predict future ones, so check the current profile.
same coin, two traders
the setting that matters most when you copy several fomo traders, because good traders often buy the same tokens.
- first buy wins: one of your traders buys a coin and you copy it. an hour later another buys it too: that second buy is skipped. one position per coin.
- buy again (default): each buy adds to your position, inside your cooldown. a coin three of your traders like becomes your biggest position on its own.
buy again is a bet that agreement between traders is a signal. first buy wins is a bet that it is mostly the same crowd arriving at the same token, and that you are already exposed. neither is wrong. pick one on purpose, and remember that with buy again, three traders who always overlap are one bet sized three times.
who closes a position
on a sell, only the trader who opened your position can close it. if trader a opened your bag and trader b sells the same coin, your position does not move. this keeps exits tied to the reasoning that opened them.
two consequences worth knowing:
- if you stop copying trader a, the position stays and keeps its pnl, but their future sells no longer close it. your own take profit and stop loss keep protecting it.
- a take profit or stop loss set inside a trader's copy flow belongs to that trader. set one from /settings and it applies to every trader you copy.
max positions and the rest of the guards
max positions stops new tokens from being opened past a count. adding to a token you already hold is always allowed. it caps how many things you have to think about, not how much you spend, so pair it with your sizing.
cooldown (default 1 hour) skips a repeat buy of a token you already hold inside the window. traders fire in bursts, and with several traders the bursts overlap.
the 24 hour no re-buy rule applies to everyone: once a token leaves your wallet, copyfomo does not buy it back for 24 hours, even if another of your traders buys it. first buys only, set per trader, is useful on the busiest ones; why the first entry is the one to copy explains the trade-off.
your cash is split by chain
the part that trips up multi-trader setups. your cash sits on the four chains copyfomo trades (robinhood chain, base, bnb, solana), and a single trade spends from one of them. what a copy can spend in one go is your biggest balance, not your total, which is why a skip message can show less than your home screen.
copyfomo moves your cash to the chains your traders actually use, on its own and at no cost to you. still, if you copy four traders, fund for several copies each, not one. with one buy's worth in the wallet, the copies after it wait, and the bot tells you before you get there.
a starter setup for 2 to 5 traders
- two traders first. watch a real week of fills before adding a third. how to pick a fomo trader covers the filters.
- different styles. pick traders who do not always buy the same tokens, or the diversification is on paper only. the traders directory puts the tracked traders side by side.
- fixed sizing, smaller per trader. scale the amount down as you add traders.
- first buy wins if you want spread, buy again if you want agreement to count.
- max positions at 5 or 10, so a busy day cannot open twenty tokens.
- know the kill switch. pause all in /settings or /copies stops every copy at once. nothing is sold, and your take profit and stop loss pause with it.
when you are ready, @copyfomo_bot lets you run the copy flow once per trader and shows every copy with its own pnl in /copies. copyfomo is independent and not affiliated with fomo.
frequently asked
can you copy more than one trader on fomo at the same time?
in the fomo app itself you can follow as many traders as you like, but following means notifications and you still buy by hand. with an automatic copy tool such as copyfomo you can copy several traders at once, each with its own size, its own take profit and stop loss, and its own first buys only setting.
what happens if two traders i copy buy the same coin?
that depends on one setting. with first buy wins, you keep one position opened by the first trader and the second buy is skipped. with buy again, the default in copyfomo, each buy adds to your position inside your cooldown, so a coin several of your traders like becomes your biggest position on its own. choose deliberately, because it decides how concentrated you get.
how many fomo traders should i copy at once?
start with two, and add a third only once you have seen how many trades the first two generate in a real week. active fomo traders can place several trades a day each, so tickets add up faster than people expect. more traders is more diversification only if they trade different things; three traders buying the same tokens is one bet placed three times.
if trader b sells a coin that trader a bought for me, does my position close?
no. in copyfomo only the trader who opened your position can close it. if trader a opened your bag, trader b selling does not touch it. your own take profit and stop loss still apply, and you can always sell by hand from /portfolio.
how much money do i need to copy several traders?
enough for several copies per trader, because a copy only fills once there is cash behind it. note that your cash sits on four chains and a single trade spends from one of them, so what a copy can spend in one go is your biggest balance on a chain, not your total. copyfomo moves cash to the chains your traders use on its own.
stop reading. start copying.
pick a trader from the fomo leaderboard, set your size, and the entries and the exits land in your own wallet while you sleep.
